DigitalOcean finally has Load Balancers

Some of you might have already heard of DigitalOcean – kind of a small cloud provider, that unlike AWS, has a lot fewer options, but at the same time, it costs half of what it would cost for you to run the same infrastructure on AWS, and you don’t need to make elaborate calculations to estimate how much you will need to pay there for one instance. Oh, and they are also the same guys, who make great tutorials on how to set something up on your new instances.

Either way, check out their press release, and go and start playing with load balancers on DigitalOcean:

We’re excited to announce the launch of our latest product: Load Balancers. Fully managed by DigitalOcean, create highly available setups and distribute traffic seamlessly throughout your infrastructure with just a few clicks or via the API—no ops needed.

Load Balancers can handle TCP, HTTP, and HTTPS workloads, and manage your SSL certificates. You can add Droplets to Load Balancers individually or collectively by choosing Droplet tags.

Load Balancers cost $20 per month with no additional bandwidth charges, and are available in all datacenter regions.
