On August 26th, we hosted our 27th DevOps & AI Latvia meetup at Workland – another inspiring evening of knowledge, networking and lively discussion!
This time, our speakers brought both technical depth and cultural perspective:
🔹 Eduards Ruzga, Former Staff Engineer at Prezi and now Cofounder of Desktop Commander, shared “How MCPs, AIs and CLIs are changing knowledge work”.
Eduards explored the differences between APIs, MCPs, and CLIs when AI is involved, how early adopters are using these tools in practice, and what this means for the future of knowledge work automation. His talk was based on real stories from the Desktop Commander community, with more than 70k users.
🔹 Jānis Ziediņš, Deputy Director for Digital Development at the Cultural Information Systems Centre, spoke about “Experience and challenges in developing AI solutions”
Jānis covered the development and integration of AI technologies, from old to new approaches, simple to complex integrations, and new ways of accessing information – along with the challenges and opportunities this brings.
💡 We also had a Lightning Talk from Aldis Greitāns, Assistant Professor at Riga Business School, on the “Use of AI in Business Education.”
